Biden’s Absence on New Hampshire Primary Ballot Confirmed, Per Reuters Report

President Joe Biden Not on New Hampshire Primary Ballot

New Hampshire Refuses to Abide by Democratic Party Rules

President Joe Biden’s name will not appear on the New Hampshire Democratic primary ballot, as the state has chosen not to comply with the new Democratic Party regulations. The Biden re-election campaign announced this decision on Tuesday, citing the state’s refusal to hold its primary contest after South Carolina, as per the new rules.

Changes to First Two Election Nominating Contests

In an effort to include more diverse states, the Democratic Party made changes to the first two election nominating contests. However, this move clashed with New Hampshire state law, which mandates the state to hold its primary election first. Iowa was also eliminated from its traditional role in the nomination process.

Biden Chooses Not to Submit Declaration of Candidacy

Julie Chavez Rodriguez, Biden’s campaign chair, conveyed in a letter to New Hampshire Democratic Party Chair Ray Buckley that Biden would not submit a declaration of candidacy for the New Hampshire ballot. The deadline for submission was Friday. Rodriguez assured that once Biden secures the Democratic Party’s nomination for president at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago next August, his name will appear on New Hampshire’s general election ballot on November 5, 2024.

Unopposed Drive for Nominee Position

Biden, 80, has faced no significant opposition in his pursuit of becoming the Democratic Party’s nominee. Ray Buckley responded to Rodriguez’s letter by confidently stating that Biden will win the New Hampshire first-in-the-nation primary in January, secure renomination in Chicago, and ultimately be re-elected in November.

It remains to be seen how this decision will impact Biden’s campaign strategy and the overall primary race.
